The Agadez region, located in the north of Niger, is mostly tropical desert climate, with drought and little rain all year round. In addition, the power supply is unstable, so it is very difficult to develop agriculture and animal husbandry even in limited irrigated areas.

Traditional agriculture remains the main economic activity of the majority of the population in the state. Due to the drought and the average altitude of more than 1700 meters, it is difficult to get water and irrigate, which makes only 10% of the land in the state suitable for crop cultivation and only 15% of the land is suitable for grazing.

The shortage of water resources in Syria not only restricts the development of industry and agriculture, but also has a great impact on the domestic water consumption of residents.
