Meeting the Dissolved Oxygen Challenge of Semi-Intensive Farming In Guatemala, aquaculture is a key export industry. Many local shrimp farms have shifted to semi-intensive farming models, which impose nearly stringent continuous requirements on dissolved oxygen levels in water. However, traditional aeration solutions relying on grid electricity or diesel generators not only expose farmers to rising energy costs but also often face interruptions due to unreliable power supply, threatening the survival of fish and shrimp.
Solution:
⚡ Technical Deployment: Precision Adaptation of the SPO1500-WH System Solartech's team deployed the SPO1500-WH solar aeration system based on local farming needs. The core of this project lies in balancing "energy stability" with "aeration efficiency":
24/7 Complementary Power Supply: To address the instability of the local grid, the system is equipped with an inverter that supports a wide AC input range of 187–400V and a DC input of up to 480V. Using solar-grid complementary technology, the system prioritizes solar power. When sunlight is insufficient, it automatically switches to grid power as a supplement, ensuring 24-hour rated operation.
High-Efficiency Permanent Magnet Drive: The installed 1.5kW aeration pump adopts permanent magnet direct-drive technology. At a rated speed of 125 rpm, a single unit delivers an aeration capacity of ≥ 1.9 kgO₂/h, with a power efficiency of ≥ 1.25 kg/kWh. This gearless design requires no oil filling, eliminating the risk of lubricant leakage polluting the water.
Environmental Adaptability & Intelligent Protection: Considering the harsh outdoor environment, the inverter features an IP65 protection rating and operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. The built-in motor soft-start function effectively extends equipment life and handles comprehensive protection needs such as phase loss and rotor lock.
