In recent years, Los Molles Town in the north of Valparaíso Region, the 5th region in Chile, has faced the threat of desertification. In dry season, local farmers in the suburbs face the problem of
water shortage for irrigation.
In July 2023, developed and funded by the INIA, local farmers selected the Solartech
SPM-S series 500W permanent magnet solar water pumping system to provide irrigation water for their planted alfalfa. This system has a high level of protection, no need protection cabinet, and can be installed independently outdoor. It operates fully automatically, without the need for manual supervision. The system only requires two solar panels for power supply, the total water head is 38 meters and the average daily water supply of over 9 cubic meters.
After the system was completed and put into operation, it ensured the irrigation water demand of the farmer for alfalfa planting, and also provided feed and drinking water for their livestock such as cattle and sheep.
