Project Location:
Chile
Project Introduction:
In recent years, thanks to sufficient lighting conditions and suitable climate conditions, some farms in north Chile have begun to expand the cultivation of olive. Olives need sufficient water, but they cannot tolerate water logging. When rainfall is insufficient, they need to be replenished through irrigation and other methods during specific periods.
Solution:
In May 2023, Solartech solar precision irrigation system was successfully installed in an olive plantation in Freirina,Atacama Region. The project selects
Solartech PB-G3 series 2.2kW solar water pumping system, and the entire system is jointly controlled by PB-G3 solar pumping inverter and irrigation controller. The water pump pumps the water from the reservoir into the pipeline, while the venturi fertilizer mixer sends fertilizer which containning nitrogen, phosphorus, kalium and other nutrients into the pipeline. Then, the particles that may clog the irrigation pipeline are separated through a sieve filter, and finally, the nutrient solution is transported to the dropper heads on each olive tree through a pipeline network.
Social Benefits:
The completion of this project provides a fully automatic water fertilizer integrated precision irrigation scheme powered by solar energy for 2000 olive trees in the plantation, which will effectively ensure the growth and harvest of olive trees.
