Sudan

In recent years, with climate change, the rainy season in the semi-desert region of western Sudan has shortened and the dry season has extended. It is very difficult for nomadic people living in the region to obtain water for daily life and livestock.

In January 2023, Solartech 7.5kW AC solar pumping system was successfully installed in a nomadic settlement in western Sudan. The project uses 7.5kW deep well pump to pump water, the total water head is about 130 meters and an average daily pumping capacity more than 85 cubic meters. The whole system is powered by solar PV system, without battery, and operates automatically without manual supervision.

After the project was delivered and put into operation, it has effectively solved the problems of domestic water supply and livestock drinking water in nomad's settlements in off-grid areas, and ensured their basic life.
