Agriculture still occupies an important position in the national economic system of Benin, and its agricultural population accounts for about 70% of the total employment population. The arable land area of Benin is about 70,000 square kilometers. Due to the lack of electricity and weak agricultural water conservancy infrastructure, it is difficult to irrigate the arable land, resulting in less than 17% of the actual cultivated area. To solve the problem of agricultural irrigation has become a top priority for the development of agriculture in Benin.
