Project Location:
Indonesia, South Sulawesi
Project Introduction:
South Sulawesi is covered by dense tropical forests and coconut forest is the main economic crop. The project area is far from the urban area and inconvenient for power supply. What's more, with high temperature and fast evaporation, the seasonal rainfall is difficult to meet the irrigation water demand, especially the serious water shortage in the mature stage of coconuts, which leads to a significant reduction in coconuts production. In early spring 2020, local coconut farmers from the islands of South Sulawesi, Indonesia gathered at the site of the Solartech’s Thousand Islands Plan to feel the power of creation from Shenzhen, China Solartech Thousand Islands Plan aims to provide solar pumping system for agricultural irrigation in Indonesian Islands to help increase the production and income of the local farmer. This system mainly uses inexhaustible solar energy to ensure sufficient water supply without paying electricity bills.
Solution:
he total water head of the project is 40m, the length of water pipe line is 200m and average daily water flow is 60m³. According to the altitude and seasonal irradiance data records of this area, this project adopts Solartech SPB42K2070 solar pump, which consists of a PB3700H solar pumping inverter, a 2.2kW three-phase AC water pump and 5kW solar module. Solar irrigation, a newly launched energy conservation and environmental protection policy of the Indonesian government, is invested and managed by the Ministry of Public Works. It is a key new energy model project in South Sulawesi. This project was undertaken by Solartech's partners in Indonesia for construction, installation and maintenance. It was completed and passed government inspection in December 2019.
