Project Location:
Cambodia
Project Introduction:
The population of Cambodia is approximately 14 million, and about 85% of the population depends on agriculture for their livelihoods, which is Cambodia’s main national economy. However, due to power shortages and weak water conservancy infrastructure, the dry and rainy seasons are obvious, and precipitation is unevenly distributed, restricting the development of agricultural planting and agro-processing industries.
Solution:
In May 2021, Solartech 15kW solar pumping system was successfully installed in Cambodia. The system adopts Solartech PB series AC solar surface pump, and the water pump is installed floating on the water. Thanks to sufficient sunshine conditions in Cambodia, the average daily water flow over 200m3, which fully meets the needs of the owner to supply surrounding crops and effectively guarantees the irrigation time.
Social Benefits:
The solar pump of Solartech provides power for the pumps through solar power generation, and it does not need to excavate the canal system to obtain the irrigation water source nearby. The system is ready to use and runs automatically, without manual guards; no energy storage battery is required, which saves fuel and maintenance costs. But also reduces the consumption of grid/diesel, and promotes the application and development of renewable energy in Cambodia’s agriculture.
