Project Location:
Bolivia
Project Introduction:
Sugar cane is one of the main agricultural products in Guatemala, a Central American country. The growth of sugarcane requires a large amount of water, and stable and reliable irrigation is a necessary condition for sugarcane farmers to ensure their harvest. However, due to unstable power supply, local sugarcane farmers have to use fuel generators to pump water for irrigation during the peak summer irrigation season.
Solution:
In April 2024, Solartech provided the design scheme and system equipment, and Solartech Guatemala agency organized the construction and installation of a solar sprinkler irrigation project, which was commissioned and accepted in a sugarcane field in the southern province of Escuintla, Guatemala.
The project uses the Solartech PB-G3 series 7.5kW AC solar pumping system, total head 35 meters and daily water flow over 450 cubic meters. At the same time, the system supports backup power supply, in the event of cloudy days,
the fuel generator can still be used for water pumping system.
Social Benefits:
The operation of this project not only provides better irrigation for 18 hectares of sugarcane fields, but also greatly saves fuel costs for sugarcane farmers, ensuring their harvest.
