Traditional agriculture remains the main economic activity of the majority of the population in the state. Due to the drought and the average altitude of more than 1700 meters, it is difficult to get water and irrigate, which makes only 10% of the land in the state suitable for crop cultivation and only 15% of the land is suitable for grazing.

Agriculture plays an important role in Syria's national economic system, with an area of 4.736 million hectares and a population of 4.4 million. Syria is one of the five food exporting countries in the Arab world.

The project case is installed on a family farm in the suburb of Thies, Senegal, to provide water for poultry raising and orchard irrigation.
