Project Location:
Southern Morocco
Project Introduction:
Southern Morocco has a tropical desert climate, with an average annual precipitation of less than 250 mm, and even less than 100 mm in some areas. Such harsh natural conditions seriously restrict the development of local agriculture and forestry, how to deal with drought has become the most concerned problem of local farmers. In the past, during the dry season, farmers had to use the diesel pumping system to pump water for irrigation. Now they have a better choice, which is Solartech solar water pumping system.
Solution:
In a desert area in the south of Morocco, there is a nursery base for hundreds of mu of dwarf palm trees. Solartech PK series 30kW AC solar pumping system is selected as the water supply pumping station of the nursery base. The project is with 200m water head and average daily water discharge is more than 200 m3. Combined with drip irrigation system, the water can meet the requirements of irrigation water for dwarf palms. The system also supports the hybrid power input, and can automatically switch to the diesel power supply system to pump water in cloudy days or at night. Solartech solar pumps use the world's leading proprietary technology, it can be fully automatic operation, without manual operation. In the long-term run, the operation and maintenance cost of solar water pump is much lower than that of diesel water pump.
Social Benefits:
Since 2013, Solartech PB, PB-G2 and PK series solar submersible water pumps have been widely used and promoted in Morocco, and have been highly praised by agents, industry partners and project owners. In recent years, the Moroccan government has strongly supported and encouraged the diversification of energy supply. Nowadays, solar agricultural irrigation has become an innovative and environment-friendly solar water conservancy solution for Moroccan agricultural economy.
