Project Introduction:
Over 70 percent of Botswana’s population lives in rural areas and earns a living from agriculture. Because of the dry climate, livestock production dominates agricultural activities. How to solve the living water supply problem for livestock has become the first issue to increase the agricultural income. The project was constructed by a member of Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) in June, 2012.
Solution:
Solartech solar pump system PS4000-1 were applied in this project, drawing water from 2 boreholes which are 216m and 180m deep, providing over 20m3 of water daily, ensuring the drinking water safety for 600 cattle. A reservoir capacity of 254,000 liters was built for water storage.
