Anlan Village, Funing County, Wenshan State, Yunnan Province (June 2014)

Anlan village is located in Xinhua Town, Funing County, Yunnan Province. The local topography is complex and diverse, and more than 85% of it is mountainous area or semi-mountainous area. Main economic incoming locally depends on cash crops planting such as tea, corn, rice, orange planting etc. Special topography in Anlan results in fairly weak water holding capacity in farmland, and water shortage becomes a primary problem in planting industry development. In dry seasons the villagers had to adopt traditional diesel engine to irrigate farmland.The yearly cost of diesel powered irrigation was more than 100,000 RMB which was a great burden for the local poor villagers.

The local government departments including the Funing County Water Conservancy Bureau and Administration of Science &Technology paid great attentions to the irrigation problem. After comprehensive investigations and discussions, they determined to introduce one set of solar pumping system project in Anlan village. Shenzhen Solartech was finally appointed as solar pumping system provider after repeated comparisons. At the water head of 130m, PSC3700 system produces water of 200m3 daily, and solves water supply problem for 164 acres of farmland irrigation and living water of the village completely.
