Yuanan County’s mushroom cultivation base is a famous demonstration base for exported edible fungi where the mushroom production capability is annually up to 5 million sacks. Enough water irrigation is a guarantee for mushroom cultivation for high quality and quantity.
Yuanan County has very good natural conditions for mushroom Cultivation; it is easy to set up greenhouses to the open and flat ground, dozens of mushroom greenhouses built at the entrance of the village. There is river always with water near the greenhouses 800m away, which can gurantee the water supply for mushrooms. Besides, there are a group of hills; it is really a very beautiful place.
Though there is abundant water resource, but it is not easy to transfer the river water to greenhouses 800m away. The common method for farmers is using diesel generators for water pumping. While with the rise of oil price, the cost of mushrooms cultivation increased.
In May 2012, to solve the greenhouse irrigation problem, Yuanan Water Conservancy Bureau got to know Solartech solar pumping system from "Key Promotion Guidance Catalogue of Advanced Practical Technologies" , it is a perfect water solution for large scale greenhouse cultivation, no need diesel oil and grid power, pumps water by sun energy. Besides, it stores water instead of electricity. What is more, it is really impressive for energy saving and environmental protection.
According to the situation of the county, ShenzhenSolartech founded a working group, after analyzing the local situation, Solartech made an optimization solution for mushroom irrigation. Projects utilizes Solartech PS7500 solar pumping system to pump water from borehole and send it to a small hillside which is 200 meters far away from water sources and 50 meters high, the system’s daily water flow is 100-150 cubic meters which is tested by Solartech engineer on a sunny day. On the hillside there is water tower which can contain 200 cubic meters of water. With the help of gravity pressure formed by the hillside height, sprinkling irrigation is used to meet the water demand of mushroom cultivation.
The system can annually generate 21600KWH, during its 25 years of life span, it can save 203 tons of standard coal and reduces emissions of carbon dioxide 89.3 tons, sulfur dioxide 4.1 tons, 3.1 tons of soot and 52.8 tons of ash.
