Project Location:
Afghanistan
Project Introduction:
Afghanistan has a continental climate, dry and rainless all year round, with an average annual rainfall of only 240 mm. This restriction of natural conditions poses a great challenge to the domestic water consumption of the Afghan people.
Solution:
In March 2021, Solartech 1.5kW AC solar borehole pump system was successfully installed in Abadar village, Khulm district, Balkh province in northern Afghanistan to provide domestic water for nearby villagers.
Social Benefits:
The system is powered by solar energy, no need storage battery. It is fully automatic operation, without manual guard. The operation and maintenance costs is low which can effectively solve the problem of difficult access to water in off-grid and power-deficient areas.
