Project Location:
Durango, Mexico
Project Introduction:
Durango, located in the central plateau of Mexico, is the fourth largest state in Mexico. Traditional agriculture remains the main economic activity of the majority of the population in the state. Due to the drought and the average altitude of more than 1700 meters, it is difficult to get water and irrigate, which makes only 10% of the land in the state suitable for crop cultivation and only 15% of the land is suitable for grazing.
Solution:
In May 2021, Solartech 4kw AC solar pumping system was successfully installed in a ranch in Durango. The system adopts the latest PB-G3 Smart Pro series solar pumping inverter. Due to the local sufficient sunshine duration and 98% high conversion efficiency of inverter, the pump can run over 10 hours in sunny days, which can fully meet the requirements of the livestock drinking water supply and forage crops irrigation.
Social Benefits:
The system is powered by solar energy only and operates automatically without manual guard and energy storage battery. Compared with the original diesel pump system, the fuel and maintenance costs are saved. It not only guarantees the income of project owner, but also reduces the consumption of diesel, and promotes the application and development of renewable energy in the agriculture and animal husbandry in Durango, Mexico.
