On 2^nd of December, the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) with the theme of "Our Land Our Future" kicked off in the "Oasis" City of desert-Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a pioneer in the field of global solar desert ecological restoration, Solartech was invited by the organizer to participate in this globally acclaimed event.

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of UNCCD, COP16 will be the largest UN land conference to date, and the first UNCCD COP held in the Middle East and North Africa region, which knows first-hand the impacts of desertification, land degradation and drought. 

Desertification, Land degradation and Drought are the most pressing environmental challenges for our 21 era, with up to 40% of the world's land already degraded. In these areas, "Difficulty in obtaining water and using water" has always been the basic factor hindering its ecological recovery, caused by its fragile ecological environment, dry earth surface, deep underground water source, and insufficient power infrastructure construction. Toward desertification and comprehensive land management, firstly we have to solve the complication of irrigation.
