Solartech Thousand Islands Plan Aims To Provide Solar Pumping System for Agricultural Irrigation to Indonesia Islands to Ensure the Increase of Production and Income of Local Coconut Farmers.
In early spring 2020, local coconut farmers from the islands of South Sulawesi, Indonesia gathered at the site of the Solartech’s Thousand Islands Plan to feel the power of creation from Shenzhen, China Solartech Thousand Islands Plan aims to provide solar pumping system for agricultural irrigation in Indonesian Islands to help increase the production and income of the local farmer. This system mainly uses inexhaustible solar energy to ensure sufficient water supply without paying electricity bills.
South Sulawesi is covered by dense tropical forests and coconut forest is the main economic crop. The project area is far from the urban area and inconvenient for power supply. What's more, with high temperature and fast evaporation, the seasonal rainfall is difficult to meet the irrigation water demand, especially the serious water shortage in the mature stage of coconuts, which leads to a significant reduction in coconuts production.
Solar irrigation, a newly launched energy conservation and environmental protection policy of the Indonesian government, is invested and managed by the Ministry of Public Works. It is a key new energy model project in South Sulawesi. This project was undertaken by Solartech's partners in Indonesia for construction, installation and maintenance. It was completed and passed government inspection in December 2019.
Solartech solar pumping inverter regulates and controls the whole system operation, controls the solar array to convert solar radiation into electricity, realizes MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), adjusts the synchronous conversion of output frequency and solar radiation, drives water pump to draw water for irrigation, converts the power absorb from solar array to supply the solar pump system.
Solar pumping irrigation system starts working at sunrise and stops working at sunset. No needs of manual duty, diesel, grid power, or energy storage batteries. It directly drives the pump to work without any environmental pollution. At night, domestic water use can be provided by installing a water tank to store water instead of electricity. Special water demand can also be meet by combined with grid power supply, diesel generators and batteries. Matching with drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, infiltration irrigation and other water-saving irrigation facilities, it can save water and energy, significantly reduce the system construction and operation costs and improve the economic output of the project.
