Introduction
Solar power, or solar energy (professionally referred to as photovoltaic or PV for short) created by the sun, can be utilized in a number of ways. Solartech Solar pump is a pumping device powered by solar energy, which consists of solar pumping inverter and pump. These types of systems can be used in swimming pools, fountains and larger agricultural irrigation, desert control and daily water supply, etc.
Types of Solartech Solar Pumps
There are two main types of pumps used for solar water pumping system, surface pump and submersible pump. Submersible solar water pumps would be the most popular ones, which are installed underground, but the solar panels are fixed above ground. Submersible pumps are used to pump water from inside boreholes or wells to the surface. Other types of pumps are also feasible to use like sewage pump, high pressure pump. Any three phase induction pump can be used for solar AC pumping system.
Solar Pump Components
Solartech Solar pumps operate using three main components, solar arrays (solar modules), solar pumping inverter and pump. Solar arrays collect the sun's rays and convert them into usable electricity. Solar pumping inverter converts DC current generated by solar arrays to AC current to drive and control AC pumps. The pump moves the water from underground. Battery is not needed for solar AC pumping system, which can reduce the whole system and maintenance cost.
Solar Pump Installations
Direction solar arrays (solar modules) face is critical to system efficiency. Often times compass is used to determine module direction, facing south in northern hemisphere and vice versa. Angle of inclination should be similar to local latitude or choose best angle according to water flow requirement based on seasonal changes. Pump must be installed at least 1m lower than dynamic water level, higher than well pipe water filter, at least 5m above bottom of well to prevent sand and mud.
