Project Location:
Kabingo Subcounty, Kamwenge District, Western Uganda
Project Introduction:
This project will ease the livelihood of the community and the livestock as the challenge of water scarcity is completely solved.
Solution:
The scope of this project included supply and installation of 6 Solartech
PB-G2 series solar water pump systems which can provide 400cubic per day at a water head of 180m.The soalr water pump systems do not need battery. Solar generator provides power to the pumps during the day and can be switched to grid power supply when necessary at night to meet the 24-hour operation of the water pump.
Social Benefits:
As early as 2009, Solartech's first
solar water pumping system in Africa was installed in Uganda. Over the past 10 years, the
solar pump system has been vigorously promoted and successfully applied in Uganda. At the same time, it has solved the practical problems of water scarcity for local agricultural irrigation, domestic water and livestock breeding, and created huge economic and social benefits.
