Project Introduction:
In May 2022, Solartech 600W PayGo solar pump system was successfully installed in a farm in Chongwe District, Lusaka Province, Zambia.
Solution:
The system pumps water from the well to irrigate the corn field. It operates automatically without manual supervision and battery. The total water head is about 50 meters and the average daily water flow can reach 10 cubic meters.
Social Benefits:
The smallholder only needs to pay a small proportion of the down payment to the dealer and pay the installment every month as agreed. After one year, he can fully own the solar water pump system. Previously, due to the lack of irrigation system, the irrigation of the farm mainly depended on precipitation. When the dry season comes, crops often die due to lack of water when they are about to mature. With this solar water pump system, customers no longer have to worry about the irrigation of corn fields.
